Indiana DOC Inmate Search
The Indiana DOC Inmate Search is provided by the Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC) as a database service that allows users to search for detailed information regarding all past and present inmates in state-owned correctional facilities.
The website is updated on a regular basis to ensure the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of the inmates. However, as the inmate information changes quickly, the most recent changes in the status of inmates may not be reflected all the time.
How to Use Inmate Search to Find Inmates in Indiana Prisons?
To find an inmate using the Inmate Search, please visit the website.
Search for Indiana DOC inmates
There are two search criteria on the website: search by incarcerated name or search by DOC number.
To search by the inmate’s name, you need to enter the last name or both first and last names in the search field(s). To narrow your results, searches should be done by both first and last names if you know. Then click on the "Search" button.
All inmates in the database that have a name containing what you are searching for will be displayed. You can see the name, DOC number, date of birth, race, sex, and facility/location of the inmates. To see more detailed information about the inmates, click on the DOC number. You will demographic information, earliest possible release date, sentence information of the inmates.
To search by DOC number, just enter the six-digit DOC number in the search field. Searching by DOC number eliminates one step in the process.
